Order bacon on your burger and not receive it? That is YOUR fault as a customer... Two members of your party order their steaks Medium-Rare and the steaks (btw, $32/each) come out well done, well that is your fault also. Send the steak back just to have someone from kitchen argue with you about a slightly-pink center being medium rare. Again that is YOUR fault as a customer for not knowing how THIS "restaurant" cooks their steaks. Then the manager comes out to argue with you also informing you that you are wrong. Kitchen then brings you out two steaks that are refrigerator cold (slightly cooked on the outside) and again inedible. Manager (Tony) brings the check to the table, informing everyone to pay the check and leave. "You are wrong" "You don't know what you are talking about" "No you cannot have dessert" "Just pay your check and leave" "You can tweet about it" are just a few quotes the management at this "fine dining restaurant" spouted on an evening of celebration. Now the marketing director calls a member of our party at her work threatening to sue for slander because the event @RemingtonPark #silk has gone "viral" (her words). All of this because members of the party wanted their steak cooked medium-rare and bacon on a burger? Customer service FAIL! Management101 FAIL! Basic Marketing FAIL! btw, the only reason I gave this place one star was because negative wasn't an option...

i was pretty blown away at how great the food was. wine selection is lacking, but the cocktails aren't terrible. the service was great, however the tables, chairs and lines could be updates to match quality of food and cost. the views are tremendous, and all-in-all in makes for a top night. good for being close to the casion, getting your belly full, people waching or getting day drunk.

When we arrived we stood at the hostess desk to inquire about a table. We stood waiting for 10-15min without being acknowledged. We didn't even get a "we will be with you in one minute." They completely ignored us like we weren't there. Eventually we were seated and AGAIN no one acknowledged our existence. We sat for 10 minutes and no one came by to greet us or get our drink order. Eventually, we got up and went downstairs to eat Henry Hudsons. This was a pathetic experience starting with the hostess and ending with the servers. I have been to this restaurant a handful of times and not once was the service or food outstanding. I looked for every reason to give this place another chance. Well this was it, I will never eat at this place again. Silks deserves a ZERO star rating...well they are pretty close to it based on the ratings given to them on Yelp?!?!?

Good News! Silks Restaurant at Remington Park met our expectations for dinner on Saturday evening, October 25th, and exceeded our expectations for service. In fact, everything exceeded our expectations from the courtesies of Inky and Kody in the Valet Car Service who helped with my Fiancé's wheel chair, to our very thoughtful and helpful server, John, who was a very thoughtful and made us delicious Martinis to our specifications--including a glass of extra olives. He and another server named John too, kept us well served throughout the evening. We were seated right above the finish line and had a private television screen with the latest up to the minute information about each race. Food was presented promptly-- and was simply delicious. The Red Pepper Soup was a generous bowl filled with a tasty tomato based soup that was well seasoned and had two neat grilled cheese croutons swimming on top. The Crabcake, fresh Broccoli, and Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes were very yummy too. The Crabcake had lots of fresh crab and was as tasty as can be. But, the Triple Decker Club Sandwich with Housemade Parmesan Potato Chips was among the best of the ones I have ever had. It was loaded with everything a club sandwich should have. It was so good I would have it again. Clearly, this restaurant is worth a try. In fact, every employee we met while at Reminton Park was particularly courteous and hospitable--making us feel right at home. One employee was so thoughtful as to leave her desk to take us to the nearby elevator. Remington Park is simply a wonderful place to spend the evening! The horse races were close races and exciting too. We found none of the criticisms mentioned in a couple of former critical reviewers, and our only complaint was that the air conditioning was too cold. We recommend that you try Silks out for yourselves like we did and hope you have an entertaining evening at the races too.

My dining experience at The Silks was the worst I've ever experienced. First, my husband and I ordered a side salad and an entree, along with the mushroom appetizer. After about 30 min of waiting and no server, we had come to the conclusion that everything would be delivered at once. We were right. Well, mostly right. My side salad wasn't delivered at all. When I asked the server about it, she apologized and said she go get the salad. Second, when I received my entree, there was a shriveled up plastic bag in my rice. I informed the waitress and once again, she apologized and took the bag. However, she DID NOT take my plate and offer me a fresh meal. The manager promptly came by our table to apologize, and said he'd bring me a new plate of rice. Once again, at no point did anyone take my plate and offer me a fresh bag less meal. When I did get my new plate of rice, I was so disgusted that I couldn't eat anything on my plate. By this point I'm hangry. Really hangry. Still no side salad. Third, as our server was clearing our plates, I asked about my side salad. She finally brought it out about 10 min after our meals had been cleared. Fourth, everything I tried at this establishment was awful. Over seasoned, under seasoned, you name it. Fifth, after my dessert salad was delivered, my husband and I ordered a round of drinks. Beer for him, wine for me. THIRTY MINUTES after we ordered the drinks, we were able to flag the server down and asked where they were. Finally, 35 minutes after they were ordered they were delivered. My husband and I were looking for a fun low-key date night. What we got was a nightmare experience. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place!

The Silks Fine Dining were flavorful and seared to perfection. Wish we would have choosen a different potato dish as a side, however overall the meal was delicious and the service well paced. The wine list is extensive but expensive.

We have been to Silks many times over the past years but today was such a disappointment. The service was excellent and we were greeted by a friendly hostess but that is where it ends. My husband ordered the chicken fry and it is a generous portion. Too bad it was not good. The breaking was strange, sort of a mushy panko type breaking and it was hard to find any meat inside. Our server recommended the Grouper sandwich so I ordered it. The fish is so odorous and strong tasting it turned my stomach to try to eat it. So sad that one of our old favorites is going downhill. We will eat hot dogs at the races from now on.

Silks is a restaurant that can get something right, but only by being so outrageously ridiculous in the execution that they manage to muck it up entirely. And I mean that across every category imaginable. For example, it's completely appropriate to ask someone if they'd like another glass of wine. It's NOT appropriate to fail to communicate the answer to the rest of your team, and then have multiple OTHER waiters ask you the same question over a period of ten minutes. Communication, people! But I'm ranting ahead of myself. Silks is located at Remington Park racetrack and casino, one of the few restaurants that's all smoking-permitted. The decor is pristinely-maintained late 1980's. The food ... oh, the food ... The food was bad. Let's start with the jumbo shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were only slightly past their "still tastes good" date (or maybe just frozen too long), and the "bourbon cocktail sauce" had no discernible taste of anything to distinguish it from what you can buy at a grocery store. The stuffed mushrooms were the best thing we ate, insofar as they had a little flavor to them. However, the only thing "astounding" (to use the server's term) about the mushrooms was the astounding amount of oil they were drowning in. I'm beginning to understand why people were hesitant about ordering anything besides scrambled eggs for breakfast and cheeseburgers for dinner 20 years ago if this is what you ran the risk of getting! Ribeye steaks were at least consistently overcooked, insofar as my medium rare steak was medium well and my wife's medium steak was well done. They were tough, underseasoned and covered in a heap of butter that didn't salvage them at all. They were served with garlic mashed potatoes injected with so much butter and cream that oily fat was literally separating from the potatoes and pooling around them as I began to eat. It was not a pleasant experience. As far as price, I'd say it would be acceptable to charge about a third of what is listed on the menu. You can pay the same amount and get FAR better food at dozens of places in town, or you can get the same quality food for WAY less at dozens of places in town. I suppose for the degenerate gambler, it's not such a bad place to hang out and watch the races. Otherwise, stay away. I might add that they also pulled my classic pet peeve, the "mandatory 20% tip added to your bill that is not disclosed at any point until they present you with said bill." We need to have a conversation about what a "gratuity" means, folks. It is a way by which you are afforded the opportunity to reward excellent service, compensate adequate service, or penalize poor service. Some restaurants require mandatory minimum gratuities as a way to ensure servers are not screwed over. This is not a good idea, but if you want to do it, you can -- just TELL ME AHEAD OF TIME. And managers, if you're considering implementing such a policy because your servers are receiving poor tips, at least consider that it might have something to do with the quality of the service. Okay, rant over, sorry. Stay away from Silks. If you'd like a better experience, don't have dinner at all: Just go hungry.

I love how they added "fine dining" to the end of their name on Yelp! Maybe tomorrow I will go to McDonald's Fine Dining restaurant as well. The food here is anything but fine - in taste OR quality. And the service is bad from the waiters/waitresses as well as Tony the supposed manager. I don't know what he manages other than to piss off our group of 10 people. Orders were wrong, produce was rotten, drinks never refilled, and attitude from the whole staff. Do yourself a favor and stay away!
